Prison Department of Punjab is presently headed by an officer of the rank of Director General of Police. Sh. A. P. Pandey, an IPS officer of 1974 batch, has recently joined as Director General of Punjab Prisons. Mr. Pandey has earlier served as Chief Director of Punjab Vigilance Bureau and ADGP Administration of Punjab Police. He has a distinguished career in Punjab Police.
